Coaches and taxi cabs are available for transfer from the airport to the center of Paris. RER train, line B also serves the airport and takes passengers into central Paris.

What to expect: Hilly Montmartre is known for its village atmosphere and tucked-away courtyards. Guests pass the gracious façade of the Villa Fontaine (acquired by the hotel in 1999) and terraced courtyard, typical of the arrondissement (district), to reach reception. Leisure and business travelers take coffee or cocktails from the bar in the lobby, settled in comfortable green armchairs.

Insider tip: Homage is paid to Montmartre’s artistic life in the small and charming Museum of Romantic Life (Musée de la Vie Romantique), two blocks from the hotel in Rue Chaptal. This former home of artist Ary Scheffer has a collection of watercolours, lockets and jewels, and recreates the literary coterie of George Sand, Delacroix and Chopin.
